VPN for Windows

*Updated antivirus software is required for any computer connecting to the MassBay network through VPN.


Please navigate to the following webpage: https://vpn.massbay.edu:8443 (Please note this webpage is only accessible from off-campus).


Please proceed through any "Connection Untrusted" warnings. The SSL security is still active despite the warnings.


Please login with your MassBay domain credentials (please note, do not include "@massbay.edu" in the username field).

Once logged into the UserPortal, from menu towards the top left of page, select “Remote Access.” Choose the top option to begin the download of the SSL VPN client.

Be aware of the location that you have chosen to save the installer. (Note: If you did not select a location, your browser defaults to your “Downloads” folder).

Go to the location that you saved the file. Continue by double clicking the installer. This will bring up the SSL VPN client setup wizard.

Continue through each setting choosing the defaults.

You must select “Install” when prompted to install “device software”.

Upon selecting “Finish”, the Sophos VPN client icon will be added to your System Tray (red stop light). Double click it and it will bring up a “User Authentication” prompt. Enter your MassBay domain credentials.

Upon successfully authenticating with your username and password, you will notice that the SSL VPN system tray icon is now green, indicating you have successfully connected to the MassBay network.

You may now setup a Remote Desktop Connection to your office computer. Windows Remote Desktop
